Women in many countries play a role in environmental causes. Although some women are used as only sex objects or cheap labor by companies, most women around the world are making an impact in a positive way. As from the previous post about Diane MacEachern, there are women out there using their minds to create programs that help the environment. Although the movie WALL-E does not specifically address women’s issues in other countries, it does show how people in general play an important role in preserving the environment. The movie “is representative of the social eco-feminist argument that a life centered on productivity threatens the sustainability of all life forms on a planet, and the planet itself,” according to Student Pulse article, “Love in the Time of Pollution: A Look at Eco-Feminism Roots in Disney’s “Wall-E“” written by Cassandra Clarke.  The movie is about a waste collecting robot who goes on a space journey that may help mankind. Men and women are able to recycle items that may seem useless. The film also demonstrates how men can be loving and caring when the WALL-E character ends up falling in love with the EVE robot. Women are typically stereotyped as being only sweet, loving and caring, but men can be that way too. Overall, the movie demonstrates how people can benefit the environment and how genders should not be stereotyped.
